I am thrilled to share some exciting news: my co-authored article on the Alexander Technique for older adults has been officially published in the Explore journal and is now indexed in PubMed!
This paper, written together with Dr. Misha Kogan — the founder of the George Washington University Center for Integrative Medicine — presents the Alexander Technique as an evidence-based, low-cost method for addressing chronic pain and frailty prevention in older adults.
Why This Matters
As our population ages, the need for safe, effective, and accessible approaches to chronic pain management and mobility preservation grows more urgent. Many older adults live with persistent pain, loss of balance, and declining functional capacity — and the conventional options (medication, surgery, inactivity) often come with significant trade-offs.
The Alexander Technique offers a fundamentally different approach. Rather than treating symptoms, it teaches people to recognize and change the habitual movement patterns that contribute to pain, tension, and loss of balance. It is gentle, non-invasive, and empowers individuals to take an active role in their own well-being.
Our paper presents the evidence showing that the Alexander Technique can be a powerful complement to traditional care — helping older adults manage chronic pain, reduce fall risk, and maintain independence.

A Quote from Dr. Kogan
"The Alexander Technique is a powerful modality that belongs in every integrative medicine toolkit. For older adults dealing with chronic pain and declining mobility, it is an essential longevity technique — safe, effective, and empowering."— Dr. Misha Kogan, Founder of GW Center for Integrative Medicine
What This Means for My Practice
This publication is deeply meaningful to me — not just as a professional milestone, but because it validates what I see in my studio every day. I watch clients rediscover ease in their bodies. I see people who had given up on being pain-free find new hope. I witness the transformation that comes from learning to work with the body instead of against it.
Having this work recognized in peer-reviewed research means that more healthcare providers, caregivers, and older adults themselves can discover the Alexander Technique as a real, evidence-based option.
If you or someone you love is navigating chronic pain, mobility challenges, or the desire to age with greater ease and independence, I would love to talk with you about how the Alexander Technique might help.
