My mom has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. We looked at all different types of help to make her life easier, and safer and get better adjustments to her new changes in life. I was recommended to try the Alexander Technique at Body at Balance.
It's a great place to get help to learn how to improve posture and movement, which is believed to help reduce and prevent problems caused by PD/pain. During several lessons, you're taught to be more aware of your body, how to improve poor posture, and move more efficiently. Anna is a great coach very passionate and kind, highly knowledgeable and professional. My mom learned a lot of new and very helpful skills for everyday life. Thank you, Anna.

I had heard about the Alexander Technique and the benefits it can bring during my time studying at Berklee but never dug into it. Fast-forward 7 years and I felt I needed something to help with pain, tension, and the inability to consistently reach a state of flow while playing my instrument (drums). In short, Anna has helped me immensely. I went in intending to feel more comfortable behind the drums without realizing it would improve every motion we as humans make. She makes the theories and techniques incredibly easy to understand and makes it possible for me to improve every day. During lessons Anna made me more aware of my posture, the way I move, sit, and stand. She made me aware of how I use my body in daily life and have more control over it. She gently led me through the series of adjustments that helped me feel less tension in my neck and shoulders and my breathing felt deeper and less constricted. We had two amazing workshops with Anna at MIT in the fall of 2021. I invited Anna to help my group at MIT get in shape after months of lockdown and long hours in front of our screens. She did an outstanding job helping us to think about, feel, and control our postures. It was very relaxing, outside, on yoga mats, standing, laying on our backs, moving, stretching, and raising awareness about the alignment of our back, neck, and head. Anna went further and offered to review our office space: she advised us on how to adjust our desk setups, monitors, and chairs to reduce the fatigue we all get after long hours of work. Overall a great physical and team-building activity. Highly recommended for small and midsize groups. My students and staff were very grateful for having this opportunity to fine-tune their postures and to laugh a bit at each other.

Alexander Technique lessons with Anna helped my daughter to gain her self-esteem back! We came to work on voice projection and stiff neck and shoulders due to stage fright.
